Five Day Weekend

My friends, I come to you as a beaten woman. One that has come face to face with a harsh reality. As the presidential election year approaches, it has come to my attention that one of the most important issues facing the American public and its governmental representatives has been overlooked, nay, dismissed as our morbid obsession with celebrity encarcerations, overseas war, and the pesky issue of world hunger and disease steal our valuable, short-term attention.

This issue that I speak of is not a new one. It has been brought up countless times only to be tossed aside, but it remains, festering in our minds, until one day soon I fear we will not be able to take it much longer. I feel that this time is upon us.

I'm talking about the 5-day weekend, of course.

Don't tell me you haven't thought about it. Monday morning, you come into work, only wishing that the weekend had been longer. You leave Friday afternoon, tired and haggard, only to find that you have a skimpy two days to organize your live and recover before doing it all over again. Seems unfair, doesn't it? Well, that's because IT IS!

Now we no longer have to endure this torture. Let's rise up together and fight the power! Let's rally for the Five Day Weekend!
